2-03-12 Early Warning

At this time (Friday, Feb. 3rd at 3 PM) very strong discussion is taking place on the likelihood of 6 sex offenders being assigned to the 6166 South Vine Valley Rd. facility after it is renovated. Look for further discussion at the Feb. 4th meeting at the Fire Hall at 10AM..”

Allow sex offenders to live in a resort/vacation area? Whose stupid idea was that? With all the children swimming and playing in the area, it seems like someone is setting up a smorgasbord for the sex offenfers. I know that the sex offenders have to live someplace. I believe that place is called prison. Do they also supply them with cable TV and the internet? Is the state testing to see how quickly they will commit another sex crime? Parents are not going to pay the costs of renting in the area if they have to keep their children indoors to protect them. The owners of vacation property and rental property are in for a bleak summer if sex offenders are living in their area.

girl from the vine valley   |  Sunday, 05 February 2012 at 3:52 pm  I do not understand why the patients at the home now cant live there because of fire code violations but the inmates can?
Why can the state fix it up for the inmates and not the patients living there for the last 27 years?
Does the state think in inmates are more important than the mentally challenged people living there now who need to be in a peaceful quiet area?
In my opinion the mentally challenged people are just as valuable as everyone else they are not second class citizens. Why would the state do something so sneaky ? Most people can not afford to rent a COTTAGE here at the lake why would they give these inmates a vaction of a life time? Im sure the people living next to this home are horrified at theI just check the sex offenders living in our area,14507 and we only have two in the area now. But in Yates county there are many more.

What about the safety of the people living in the area now ?
What about the children living across the street?
The older people who live in our area ?
How will they notify us when they escape?
I think the state needs to rethink this…. Im sure they did not research this very well.

Most people can not afford to rent a COTTAGE here at the lake why would they give these inmates a vacation of a life time? Im sure the people living next to this home are horrified at the thought of these imates being so close to the next door neighbors children ,the people who will not jog, bike or run along this road. What about all the fund raising bike events and running events that happen in Vine valley in the summer ? Will they change the routes used now ?
